Mario Alberto Accardi

Mario Accardi is a seasoned biotech entrepreneur with a diverse background in scientific research, venture capital, and operational leadership.

He currently serves as the CEO and Co-Founder of Orexia Therapeutics, a prominent biotech company formed in collaboration with VC investor Medicxi and Biopharma company Sosei Heptares, which recently merged with Centessa Pharmaceuticals.

Furthermore, Mario holds the position of Executive Chairman and innovator at Orthonika and is a Board Member at Embody Orthopaedic, both of which are innovative medtech spin-outs originating from Imperial College London.

Mario's educational journey includes studying International Baccalaureate at St. George's British International School of Rome, achieving a First Class Honours Masters in Biomedical & Mechanical Engineering, a Postgraduate degree in Genomic Medicine, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical/Medical Engineering, all from Imperial College London.
