Marina Duane

Marina Duane is a Senior Research Associate at the Urban Institute with extensive experience spanning over 15 years in designing and executing social justice programs, delivering training and technical support, and carrying out comprehensive evaluations in the criminal justice realm.

Her research expertise includes initiatives addressing intimate partner violence, behavioral health interventions for individuals involved in the justice system, and strategies for reducing jail populations.

Marina holds a Master of International Development, NGOs, and Civil Society from the University of Pittsburgh, along with a Bachelor's degree with Majors in Psychology and English Language and Literature from Dnipropetrovs'kij Nacional'nij Universitet.

Marina Duane has held various pivotal roles throughout her career, including her current position as Senior Research Associate at The Urban Institute. She has previously served as a Program Specialist in the Office of Data Analysis, Research, and Evaluation at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, as well as a Scholar in Local Government in the same department.

Her professional journey also includes roles as a Program Associate at the Human Services Center Corporation, involvement in leadership development at The Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership, GSPIA, and contributions as a Civil Society Development Project Assistant at OSCE.

Moreover, Marina has an eclectic background, having worked as an Enrollment Manager at the American English Center, a Founder and Director of the DAY (Dnipropetrovsk Active Youth) Volunteer Club, and a Counselor and Project Coordinator at Youth CAN.
