Marie Sueing

Marie Sueing is a seasoned professional with over thirty-two years of experience in the hospitality industry.

As the first Chief Diversity Officer at the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation, Marie focuses on increasing convention and tourism sales, enhancing community relations, and promoting Nashville's diverse offerings.

Marie's efforts include product development, organizing events, community engagement, and marketing support to highlight Nashville's rich history, culture, and entertainment offerings locally, nationally, and internationally.

She is also the founder of the NCVC Diversity Council, working on strengthening diversity initiatives and promoting Nashville's cultural offerings.

Marie is actively involved in various organizations and boards such as the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals, Equity and Diversity and Inclusion Task Force for Destinations International, NAACP, and more.

She has received several awards recognizing her community service, including The Dr. Evelyn Fancher Community Service Award.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Marie values her family and enjoys spending time with her husband and children.

She holds a Bachelor's degree from Tennessee State University and has studied at Spelman College.

Marie's expertise spans various roles in hospitality, hotel sales, and operations at organizations like Sheraton, Marriott, and Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

In her leisure time, Marie enjoys reading, hosting events, supporting minority-owned businesses, and listening to R&B and soul music.
