Mariana Arjona Soberón

Mariana Arjona Soberón is a highly educated professional with a diverse academic background and extensive experience in research, academia, and science communication.

She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from Yale University, followed by a Master's Degree in Environmental Science from Universität zu Köln, and completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Social and Cultural Anthropology at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München.

Mariana currently serves as the Head of Science Communication Lab and Research Associate at the Deutsches Museum, showcasing her expertise in effectively communicating complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.

Her previous roles include being a Doctoral Researcher at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, a Lecturer, Academic Program Manager, and Head of Section at the University of Cologne, where she also held positions as a Coordinator for various important initiatives such as International Cooperation Projects, Academic Digitalization in the Global South, and Innovation.

Prior to her tenure at the University of Cologne, Mariana gained experience as a Development Intern at the San Antonio Water System, a Peer Liaison, and a Research Assistant at Yale University.
