Maria Baibakova

Maria Baibakova is an accomplished arts entrepreneur with a strong background in art history and business education.

With a BA in Art History from Barnard College, an MA from The Courtauld Institute of Art, and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Baibakova's educational journey has equipped her well for her role in the art world.

In 2008, she founded Baibakov Art Projects (BAP) in Moscow, New York, and London, focusing on contemporary art support through exhibitions, educational events, and publications.

Her leadership at BAP led to the organization's success in organizing exhibitions, fostering a creative hub in Moscow's Red October Chocolate Factory district.

Baibakova's current work at Baibakov Art Projects involves curatorial and editorial projects, philanthropy, and strategic consulting in the arts, collaborating with notable clients like Sotheby's and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

A fervent supporter of women in the arts, she has been actively involved in initiatives such as the Artemis Council for women artists at the New Museum, UN Women UK, and the Association of Women in the Arts.

In the tech and art investment sectors, Baibakova has played key roles, serving with Artspace.com and currently investing in ArtBinder and advising ARTA.
