Marcus Segal

Marcus Segal is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ForeVR Games, a company dedicated to creating immersive virtual reality (VR) experiences based on popular real-life games. Founded in 2020 alongside co-founder Michael Pagano Doom, ForeVR aims to make VR gaming accessible and enjoyable for players of all ages, leveraging the growing interest in VR technology, especially during the pandemic when social distancing became essential.12

Before establishing ForeVR, Segal had a significant career in the tech and gaming industries:

• Zynga: He served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations and Chief Operating Officer of Worldwide Game Studios. During his tenure, he played a key role in making Zynga one of the fastest-growing companies to reach $1 billion in revenue.14
• Vindicia: Segal co-founded Vindicia, a technology firm focused on advanced payment solutions for digital merchants, which was sold to Amdocs in 2018.2
• eMusic: He worked as Chief Operating Officer, helping navigate the company's transition into digital music services and leading it through its acquisition by Universal Music Group in 2003.4

Segal's educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MBA from Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business.23

Current Role

As CEO of ForeVR Games, Segal is focused on developing engaging multiplayer social experiences in VR. The company's flagship title, ForeVR Bowl, launched in May 2021, followed by ForeVR Darts in December 2021. Under his leadership, ForeVR is positioned to capitalize on the increasing consumer accessibility to VR technology.15

In addition to his role at ForeVR, Segal is also a General Partner at Upshift Capital and serves on the board of G5 Entertainment. He is involved in mentoring startups through programs like Y Combinator and Google Launchpad.23
