Marc Hoenstine

Marc Hoenstine is a prominent figure in economic development, currently serving as the Managing Director of Economic Development for Duke Energy in Florida. He oversees economic initiatives across a 35-county service area, focusing on retaining and expanding existing businesses while attracting new companies to the region. His role involves significant collaboration with local governments and economic development organizations to enhance the economic landscape of Florida.13

Hoenstine has a background in international relations, having graduated from Florida State University with a degree in that field and a minor in German. He began his career in economic development with the Florida Department of Commerce and has held various positions, including working for Enterprise Florida and Progress Energy before its acquisition by Duke Energy in 2011.12

In addition to his work at Duke Energy, Hoenstine is actively involved with the Florida Economic Development Council (FEDC), where he has served in leadership roles, including chairing the organization. He is also a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and has participated in numerous boards and committees related to economic development.24
