Manisha Snoyer is a multi-talented individual hailing from Brooklyn, with a diverse background in entrepreneurship, teaching, acting, and translation.
She has an extensive teaching career, having taught over 2000 students ranging from ages 0-84 in various settings across 3 countries, including public schools, private schools, afterschool programs, and as a private tutor in a wide array of subjects.
Manisha is the founder of Act French, a foreign language and theater school that introduced language immersion and theater to 2000 adults in New York City. She also translated 8 contemporary French plays by Joel Pommerat from French to English, showcasing her linguistic expertise.
As the visionary behind CottageClass, she created a community marketplace for preK-12 microschools, which engaged 5000 teachers across 2500 zip codes and played a role in establishing 15 new schools in Brooklyn.
Demonstrating her commitment to education, Manisha spearheaded SchoolClosures.org, a collaborative effort involving 80 organizations and 300 volunteers assisting families affected by school closures. This initiative evolved into MasteryHour.org, a free math tutoring project for K-12 students with plans for expansion to cover various subjects for personalized tutoring anytime, anywhere.
Additionally, she founded Modulo, an online community connecting secular homeschooling families with relevant resources, social connections, and expert support.
Manisha's ultimate goal is to revolutionize the education system by offering highly personalized, interest-based, self-directed, project-based learning to children, supported by their families, mentors, and peers, emphasizing compassion, children's rights, and self-directed learning.
She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from Brandeis University, majoring in French Language and Literature, and obtained a three-year acting certificate from Cours Florent in Paris.
Her professional journey includes roles as a podcast host, community leader, CEO, co-founder, founder, head teacher, teacher, tutor, translator, and actress, showcasing her wide-ranging skill set and versatile expertise.
