Dr. Maneesha Sudheer is the UNESCO Chair for Experiential Learning for Sustainable Innovation & Development at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.12 She holds several key positions at the university:

- Head of the World Center of Excellence on Landslide Risk Reduction

Dr. Sudheer leads Amrita's efforts in sustainable development, particularly focusing on rural communities across India. She oversees the university's experiential learning program, Live-in-Labs, which allows students to collaborate with villagers to understand and address their challenges.1 Under her leadership, Amrita has developed a comprehensive framework for academic engagement to build sustainable communities.2
Her work has contributed to Amrita being awarded this UNESCO Chair, which is the university's second such honor.
