Manav Mital, Founder and CEO of Cyral

Manav Mital is the co-founder and CEO of Cyral, a leader in data security governance that stops data exfiltration by delivering enterprise security across all databases in every cloud.1 He has a computer science background, both by training and education, and came to the U.S. in his early twenties to pursue a Master's degree in computer science at UCLA.2

Prior to founding Cyral, Mital held various engineering roles at companies like Yahoo and Aster Data.3 He later founded Instart Logic, a startup in the CDN space focused on improving web and mobile application performance, consumer experience, and security, which was eventually acquired by Akamai.13

Mital co-founded Cyral in 2018 with the mission of helping businesses secure and govern their data in the cloud.1 The company's solution differs from traditional security tools by taking a new approach to addressing the challenges of securing modern cloud-based environments.1

As the CEO, Mital leads a team dedicated to maintaining the highest level of security for Cyral's customers.1 He has faced various challenges in his entrepreneurial journey, including hiring talent, making decisions under uncertainty as the company scales, and adapting to remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic.2
