Manak Matiyani is a development professional, feminist, queer activist, and filmmaker who has dedicated his career to empowering young people with access to information, developing rights-based youth leadership, and advancing gender justice and sexuality rights. Manak is the executive director of the YP Foundation, where he creates youth-led spaces to learn and act on critical issues of gender, sexuality, and human rights.

Prior to joining the YP Foundation, Manak worked as a trainer and consultant, facilitating youth leadership of social change while focusing on issues of gender and sexuality. He has experience developing and managing social media and on-ground campaigns, community-based change interventions, media advocacy, research, social entrepreneurship development, and coalition building. Manak has worked with grassroots groups, social organizations, and citizen initiatives as a mentor and professional.

Manak studied Masters, Media and Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia and Bachelors, English Literature at Delhi University. His expertise includes gender and sexuality, youth leadership, sexual and reproductive health and rights, comprehensive sexuality education, grassroots media, active citizenship, communication, sustainable and participatory development.
