Malcolm Shookner

Malcolm Shookner is a seasoned professional with a rich background in community development, social research, health promotion, and public policy across various sectors.

He has been involved in numerous projects focusing on utilizing indicators to assess the quality of life, sustainability, health, and well-being of communities to aid evidence-based decision-making.

Malcolm holds a Master of Arts in Networks and Coalitions in Human Services from Goddard College, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Brown University, and a High School diploma from Concordia Prep in Bronxville, New York.

Throughout his career, Malcolm has held key roles such as Chief Statistician at Community Counts and Statistics within the Government of Nova Scotia, Project Director at Voluntary Planning, and Regional Development Coordinator at the Atlantic Health Promotion Research Centre at Dalhousie University.

He has also served as a Research Associate at the Population Health Research Unit at Dalhousie University, Executive Director at the Ontario Social Development Council, and Executive Coordinator at North York Interagency and Community Council.

Currently, Malcolm is the Principal Consultant at Shookner Consulting, where he focuses on providing solutions for a sustainable society.
