Mahmoud Hashemi

Mahmoud Hashemi is a seasoned software engineer, speaker, and author with extensive experience in Python infrastructure and enterprise software development. He has held several prominent roles throughout his career:

• Stripe (March 2021 - October 2022): As a Staff Engineer, Mahmoud led technical efforts in Stripe's B2B payments group, focusing on invoicing solutions, hosted ACH payments, customer portal support, and onboarding experiences.1
• SimpleLegal (October 2017 - March 2021): Served as Director of Engineering, managing a global team of ~20 engineers and driving significant growth in the company's engineering capabilities and reliability.1
• PayPal & eBay (2008 - 2016): Held various roles including leading Python infrastructure teams, working on security and cryptography solutions, and building scalable systems for payments and other services.1

Mahmoud is also deeply involved in the open-source community. He is a Python Software Foundation Fellow, has contributed to numerous Python projects, and co-founded the Pyninsula meetup group.
