Maha Achour is a senior leader and experienced entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the RF, wireless, optics, and networking industries. She has a strong technical background combined with leadership, business, and marketing skills. Throughout her career, Achour has founded and led two startups focused on metamaterial, RF/microwave, and optical technologies development and commercialization. She has also worked closely with top university professors on metamaterial technology development and built a 120+ patent portfolio from scratch in less than five years. Achour has developed business and technical strategies for the first metamaterial-based antennae licensing model, securing funding from tier one Venture Capital firms and government agencies.

Achour has created, developed, and marketed technologies and products to leading consumer electronics and telecommunication system providers using direct sale and licensing business models. She has also interfaced with key executives from small to tier-1 handsets providers. Achour is interested in exploring nano and metamaterial technologies applied to energy harvesting and thermoelectric applications. Throughout her career, Achour has authored over 20 journal/conference publications and 75+ patents/patent applications.

Achour has studied Ph.D. in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Master's Program in Electrical Engineering, Communication Theory and Systems, at UC San Diego. Currently, she is the Founder, CEO, CTO at Metawave Corporation and was formerly Chairman of BoD at Glass Dyenamics, Founder, and CEO at Polyceed and Dyenamics, Co-Founder, and Chief Technology Officer at Rayspan Corporation, Director, Advanced Communications Research Group at San Diego Research Center, Chief Scientist/Consultant, Ulmtech at Ulmtech, Director of Advanced Technology at MRV Communications - Optical Access, Co-Founder and V.P. of Systems Engineering at LightPointe Communications, and System Engineer at Tiernan Communication.
