Magdalena Olszanowski is a Communication Studies PhD candidate at Concordia University with a focus on feminist internet histories, emoticons, mobile art, feminist post-structuralist theory, and electronic music research. She is known for her work on gender, memory, self-imaging, and emerging technologies viewed through a feminist vital materialist lens, as well as her art created with lovers. Her background includes a Certificate of French Proficiency from Centre Saint-Louis, a Creative Writing Certificate from the University of Toronto, an MA in Communication and Culture from York University, and studying Digital Methods at the University of Amsterdam.
