Maegan Carberry
Maegan Carberry is a seasoned journalist, consultant, and advocate with over two decades of experience working with top media organizations such as Upworthy, The Huffington Post, Variety, Salon, The Los Angeles Times, and The Chicago Tribune. She has appeared as an analyst for FOX and CNN, and spoken for groups like the Paley Center for Media. Maegan's approach to social sector work leverages pop culture to advance serious issues.
Maegan's expertise spans strategy, project management, creative direction, copywriting, and public relations. Her clients range from lifestyle brands to tech firms, advocacy groups, and non-profits. She has helped them develop brands, launch publications and campaigns, manage website redesigns, draft and edit public commentary, hire content teams, and produce videos, photos, and illustrated images. She is passionate about issues such as voting, mental health, LGBTQ+ rights, prison reform, and bipartisan solutions.
Maegan earned her MS in Journalism from Northwestern University and a BA in Political Science (Minor in English) from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also founded birdbrain, a non-profit clothing line for people impacted by sexual trauma.
