Maarten Herrebrugh

Maarten Herrebrugh is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blackwood Technology, a company specializing in biomass torrefaction technology. Based in Amsterdam, he has a strong background in management and technology, having studied at the MIT Sloan School of Management.23

Under his leadership, Blackwood Technology has developed innovative solutions for converting low-grade biomass into high-grade solid biofuels through their proprietary FlashTor technology. This technology aims to enhance the fuel characteristics of biomass, making it a viable alternative to fossil fuels.14 Recently, Herrebrugh announced the launch of a demonstration plant in collaboration with TTCL, showcasing the flexibility and efficiency of their torrefaction process.14

Herrebrugh's strategic vision includes expanding Blackwood's operations not only in Thailand but also across other ASEAN countries, reflecting his commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions.1
