Lynn J. Osmond, CAE

Lynn J. Osmond, CAE, is a prominent figure in Chicago's tourism and hospitality sector, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Choose Chicago. She made history as the first woman to lead this organization, which is responsible for promoting Chicago as a global destination for visitors and events. Osmond was appointed to this role in March 2022, succeeding a long tenure as President and CEO of the Chicago Architecture Center, where she served for 25 years and significantly expanded its reach and impact.145

Under Osmond's leadership, Choose Chicago has achieved notable milestones, including securing major events like the 2024 Democratic National Convention and enhancing the city's reputation as a top travel destination. Her efforts have contributed to a resurgence in tourism, with projections indicating a record number of visitors in 2023.236

Osmond holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Queen's University in Ontario and completed the Advanced Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and has received numerous awards for her contributions to architecture and tourism, including the Keystone Award for Exemplary National Leadership in Architecture and Design.138

As of January 2024, Osmond announced her decision to step down from her position at Choose Chicago to focus on a family health matter, marking a significant transition for the organization.27
