Luminita Gabriela Horga is a dedicated individual with a passion for science and technology, driven by a thirst for knowledge and a desire to foster connections among people to catalyze high-impact innovation. Her overarching goal is to make a positive impact on the world.
Her educational journey is a testament to her diverse interests and commitment to academic excellence. Luminita completed a Painting Course at the 'Dunarea de Jos' Cultural Centre in Galati, Romania. She pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biotechnology at both The University of Manchester and University College London (UCL). Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biotechnology with an Enterprise focus from The University of Manchester. Her academic background also includes studies in Mathematics and Computer Science at the 'Vasile Alecsandri' National College in Galati.
In terms of professional experience, Luminita has been actively involved in several organizations. Currently, she serves as an RMA at ROCA Investments. Previously, she was a LD14 Cohort Member at Entrepreneur First, Managing Director and Cofounder at DeepRise, and President of the Romanian Society Manchester at the University of Manchester Students' Union. She also held roles as a Student VC at Campus Capital, a Researcher and PhD Student at The University of Manchester, a Summer Intern at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, a Research Trainee at Boehringer Ingelheim, and a Student Ambassador at The University of Manchester.
