Lulu Copeland

Lulu Copeland is an accomplished Operation Management Consultant at the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association (CRMA), a position she began in October 2023. She is also the Executive Director of the Tennessee-China Network and has extensive experience in economic and workforce development, having worked in this field for over 20 years.12
Background and Education
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Lulu immigrated to the United States in 1971. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Management, both from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.1 Her career includes roles as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's School of Engineering and Computer Science, as well as positions in engineering design and management at Olan Mills.1
Professional Involvement
Lulu is deeply engaged in the Chattanooga business and engineering communities. She has held leadership roles such as:
- President of the Chattanooga Engineers Club (2001)
- Founding Member of the Society of Women Engineers, Chattanooga Area Section
- President of the Chattanooga Technology Council (ChaTech) in 2009
Additionally, she is involved with various organizations, including serving on the board of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce's International Business Council and participating in initiatives to promote STEM careers for women through Million Women Mentors.12
Contributions to Workforce Development
Lulu has coordinated operations for the Chattanooga Chinese School and represented Chattanooga at international Sister City conferences in China. Her work focuses on enhancing workforce development projects, which are critical to supporting local manufacturing and economic growth.13
Through her roles, she continues to influence both local industry practices and educational initiatives aimed at fostering a skilled workforce in Tennessee.
