Lukasz Polowczyk, also known as Noise in the Key of Life and aint about me, is a Berlin-based Polish writer, sound artist, spoken word artist, and educator.15 His artistic practice involves translating poetic ideas across various media, including sound art, spoken word compositions, audio-visual installations, books, and abstract photography.5
Polowczyk's work has been featured in prominent publications and radio shows, including Wire Magazine, BBC3 Late Junction, and Gilles Peterson's BBC6 show.5 His latest project, "Noise in the Key of Life," released an eponymous debut album on October 27, 2022.1
As a performer, Polowczyk has collaborated with various musicians and shared stages with notable artists such as MIA, Missy Elliott, Stereo MCs, and Kool Keith.3 He previously performed under the name RQM from 1999 to 2011, working with artists like Al Haca, Robot Koch, and Jahcoozi.6
Polowczyk's artistic approach involves letting his unconscious drive the creative process, drawing from a wealth of stored information and experiences.1 He describes his work as "hella niche, experimental spoken word"2 and aims to create art as colorful and vibrant as the work he admires.4
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Polowczyk is also an educator who conducts workshops and lectures, including one called "Let That Ink Flow," which covers topics such as Zen writing, creating a sustainable daily practice, and various writing techniques.6
