Luis Uguina

Luis Uguina is a highly experienced Innovation & Information Technology executive with a specialization in managing complex global multi-cultural projects and teams at international levels. With a career spanning over many years, Uguina has honed his skills in strategic forward-planning, methodical administration, and crisis management. He is a strong believer in modern leadership methods that involve staff motivation, decision-making, target-setting, clarity in communication, and personal inter-relations.

Uguina began his IT career in the entry-level position of Junior Network Operator, working overnight shifts while attending university part-time on the weekdays. He worked his way up to manage technical teams, eventually leading various IT functions, including support, development, networking & telecommunications, innovation, security, operations, help desk, and project management. Uguina has been involved in many diverse enterprise IT & innovation initiatives, including major systems development and deployment, platforms design, offshoring as well as internet, mobility, TV and app design, development, and commercialization. His innovative and balanced approach to finance has saved employers millions of dollars in technology spending while increasing service quality and creating new products and services.

Currently, Uguina is leading the Digital Transformation Team at Macquarie. He is highly passionate about technology leadership and customer experience, consistently bringing innovation and creativity to large organizations. Uguina lives in Sydney, Australia, with his wife and two children. He has a Stanford Executive Program, Executive MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to joining Macquarie, he was associated with BBVA, Banco Santander, and Bankinter, where he served in various leadership positions.
