Luis Ruiz

Luis Ruiz Ávila is a prominent figure in the biotechnology and biomedical sectors, with extensive experience as a CEO and founder of several companies. He holds a doctorate in molecular genetics from the University of Barcelona and has completed an SMP from IESE Business School.12 Ruiz Ávila has held leadership roles in various biotech firms, including Advancell, Janus Developments (which later became Spherium Biomed), and ERA-Biotech.13

He served as the CEO of Spherium Biomed from March 2009 to February 2019.2 Currently, he is the CEO of Leukos Biotech and Aquilón Cyl SL, and he also holds non-executive positions in several other biotech businesses.12 Additionally, he is involved in academia as a Director at the Master in Biomedical Business Management program and regularly lectures on entrepreneurship and biomedical topics.45 Ruiz Ávila is based in the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area.2
