Associate Professor at Kean University of NJ
Luis Martinez, an accomplished dancer and educator, received the Creative Arts Fellowship to study dance at the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana where he pursued both a BFA and MFA in Dance.
Throughout his career, he has received prestigious scholarships and had the privilege to perform with renowned dance companies such as Ballet Hispanico, Rod Rodgers Dance Company, Eleo Pomare, and more in New York City.
In 1984, Luis ventured to Osaka, Japan, where he taught various dance styles and performed with regional dance companies. After returning to NYC, he continued to perform while teaching dance classes at Ballet Hispanico for almost a decade.
Currently, Luis Martinez serves as an Associate Professor at Kean University in Union, NJ, where he imparts his expertise in jazz dance, modern dance, Latin dance, Ballroom, composition, improvisation, creative movement, and directs the Kean University Dance Ensemble.
