I have a deep technical background that I use today in my activities as architect at the boundary between business and IT. I help organizations to coordinate and organize their IT activities in such a way that business value is achieved – using IT as the means and not regarding it as a goal in itself. I design and evaluate IT solutions and create architectures.  I make sure that I remain fully in touch with relevant technology – in order to be able to fully appreciate the problems faced by the customers and teams I deal with - and because I like doing that. In many cases, I am called in when the going gets tough. 

With my fellow CTOs at Conclusion we form the Conclusion Architecture Board. We share, co-create and synthesize. We devise solutions, advise the directors, organize R&D and when needed also improvise. 

My original technological background is Oracle (database and middleware) and Java, more recently extended with a broad spectrum of cloud services, open (source) technologies and containerization and automation.

- from 1996 I was a member of the iDevelopment Center of Excellence, a global group within Oracle Corporation that provided guidance to Consultancy development efforts around the world: workshops, white papers, Guidelines (CDM) and tools (eg Headstart, RuleFrame, Oracle Designer Web Assistant and JHeadstart). The CoE was the link between Oracle Consultancy and Product Development. I worked with the Oracle Designer development team, and to some extent with the JDeveloper and Oracle Forms teams

- developed/taught courses & workshops (from CASE 5.0 in 1994 to JHeadstart in 2002, with Oracle Designer, Oracle Server Development, CDM RuleFrame, Entity Relationshop Modelling in between).

- (co-)developed several development tools for Oracle custom development efforts, notably Oracle Echo, CDM RuleFrame, Oracle Designer Web Assistant (currently included in Oracle Designer as Repository Object Browser) and JHeadstart Designer Generator (a migration tool from Oracle Designer to J2EE).
