Lucas Gaylord
CTO and Co-founder at Nomisma
Lucas Gaylord is a prominent entrepreneur and technologist, best known as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Nomisma, a digital assets derivatives exchange operational from approximately 2017 until its acquisition in 2021 by Amber Group. During his tenure at Nomisma, he played a crucial role in developing one of the largest Solidity/Yul codebases, which comprised around 14,000 lines of code. Notably, Nomisma was the first digital asset company to receive a conditional license for a Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) under MiFID II, enabling it to implement a blockchain-based custody and settlement protocol that eliminated the need for traditional custodial banks and centralized clearing parties.13
After his time at Nomisma, Gaylord co-founded Eulith, where he currently serves as CEO. His experience in the crypto sector dates back to 2017, during which he has focused on building proprietary infrastructure for security, custody, trade execution, and risk management in digital assets.2 He is also involved with Annamite Capital, a multi-strategy investment firm focused on digital assets, which he co-founded alongside Tom Geary.2
Educationally, Lucas Gaylord holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Global Business and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, graduating in 2020. He is multilingual, speaking English, German, Arabic, and Mandarin.1
