Mpp Lucas Anderson

Lucas Anderson is a seasoned professional in government relations, currently serving as the Government Relations Officer at York University. He has been instrumental in shaping the university's government relations strategy since he joined in 2018. His role involved preparing strategic plans and budget submissions aimed at influencing government policy at both federal and provincial levels. Notably, he led the creation of York University's first Economic and Social Impact Report, which highlighted the institution's contributions to infrastructure projects and academic program development, including the establishment of the Markham Campus and work-integrated learning opportunities.1

Anderson holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Toronto, where he developed expertise in policy analysis and development. Prior to his tenure at York University, he held several advisory positions within the Government of Ontario, including serving as a Policy Advisor to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, and as a Senior Advisor to the President of Treasury Board. His experience also includes leadership roles in political campaigns and implementing innovative projects like the first online voting system at Queen’s University.1

In September 2023, Anderson transitioned from York University to Humber College, where he took on the role of Director of Public Affairs.1
