Luca Fanucci

Luca Fanucci is a Full Professor of Microelectronics at the University of Pisa, where he has been involved in research and teaching since completing his Laurea and Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the same institution in 1992 and 1996, respectively. His early career included a role as a research fellow at the European Space Agency from 1992 to 1996, followed by a position as a senior researcher at the Italian National Research Council until 2004.
Fanucci's research focuses on various aspects of design technologies for integrated circuits and electronic systems, emphasizing system-level design, hardware/software co-design, sensor conditioning, and data fusion. His work has applications in wireless communications, low-power multimedia, automotive systems, healthcare, ambient assisted living, and technical aids for independent living. He has co-authored over 400 journal and conference papers and holds more than 40 patents.
In addition to his research contributions, Fanucci has served on several technical program committees for international conferences and has held leadership roles, including Program Chair for DSD 2008 and DATE 2014, as well as General Chair for DATE 2016. He is also a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is involved with editorial boards for various academic journals.12
