Lovette Caples

Lovette Caples was a trailblazer and one of the first 12 women in the USA to be assigned to work in a police radio car in the field back in 1972 at the West Hollywood Station in LA County, California under the LA County Sheriff's Department.

She faced unique challenges during her time as a female police officer, including being issued a uniform that included white blouses, miniskirts, pantyhose, and high heels with a shoulder purse for her weapon and handcuffs, as the Sheriff deemed it unfeminine for women to wear pants. Despite the impractical uniform, Lovette remained dedicated to her job, even having to invest in specific underwear to maintain a professional appearance during physically demanding tasks.

Throughout her career, Lovette showcased her resilience and resourcefulness, often outperforming her male colleagues in challenging situations. Her experiences and anecdotes from her time on patrol led her to publish a book titled '95 Fox,' reflecting her call sign '95F' and the obstacles she overcame as the first female in patrol.

In terms of education, Lovette excelled in her studies, focusing on Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement Administration, Criminal Investigations, Police Science, and even Spanish. She achieved a 4.0 GPA at Glendale Community College and East Los Angeles College, showcasing her dedication to learning and enhancing her skills in the field of law enforcement.

Aside from her law enforcement career, Lovette also explored other interests and roles, including being a blogger at MY LIFE WITH PANDA and owning A Investigative Services. After her retirement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, she continued to share her knowledge and experiences through various platforms.
