Louis Rossetto is an American writer, editor, and entrepreneur best known as the founder and former editor-in-chief/publisher of Wired magazine.1 He is currently a Partner at Força Holdings, a family holding company he established with his life partner Jane Metcalfe.12

Wired Magazine: Rossetto co-founded Wired magazine with Jane Metcalfe in 1993, launching it on a shoestring budget. Under his leadership as editor for five years, the magazine won two National Magazine Awards for General Excellence and one for Design.1 Wired became known for its bold design and coverage of "digital culture," often compared to Rolling Stone as a barometer of the era's zeitgeist.1
TCHO Chocolate: After leaving Wired, Rossetto became involved with TCHO, an innovative ultra-premium chocolate company. Força Holdings: Currently, Rossetto is a Partner at Força Holdings, which he and Metcalfe use to pursue various projects.123 The company's name, "Força da Imaginaçao," translates to "Force of Imagination" in Portuguese.
Education and Background
Rossetto was born and raised on Long Island, New York, in an Italian-American family. He attended Columbia University, earning his undergraduate degree in 1971 and an MBA in 1973.14
Personal Life
Louis Rossetto is life partners with Jane Metcalfe, with whom he has two children. They currently reside in Berkeley, California.12
