Louis T. Nguyen

Louis T. Nguyen is the Chairman and CEO of Saigon Asset Management (SAM), a prominent investment fund management and advisory firm based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Under his leadership since 2007, SAM has successfully invested in over 65 companies across various sectors, consistently outperforming major indices such as the Vietnam Index and MSCI Emerging Markets.1

Career Background

Before founding SAM, Nguyen held several significant positions in the finance and investment sectors:

• Managing Director at VinaCapital (2005-2007): He led the DFJ VinaCapital venture capital fund and oversaw key investment banking projects.

• Founding General Partner at IDG Ventures Vietnam (2003-2004): He was instrumental in establishing Vietnam's first venture capital fund.

• Vice President at Intelligent Capital (2001-2003) and Senior Investment Manager at Osprey Ventures (1999-2001): In these roles, he focused on mergers and acquisitions and venture capital investments in technology.

Nguyen is also known for his role as a board member in various companies, including PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation and LDG Investments, where he contributed to strategic growth and governance improvements.1
