Louis Geirnaerdt, a Dutch wine enthusiast and business professional, was born in Goes, The Netherlands in 1960.
Introduced to the world of wine by his grandmother at a young age, Louis developed a lifelong passion for the beverage.
While pursuing his PhD in Geology in the early eighties, he fell in love with Spain during fieldwork, sparking a deep connection with the country.
Louis gained discipline and skills during his time in The Royal Dutch Army before transitioning to study Marketing and Business.
His career in the wine industry flourished when he joined 3M, where he honed his commercial business acumen.
Married to Eugenie van Ekeris in 1989, the couple shared a mutual love for Spain and wine, eventually leading to their relocation to the country.
Louis initially co-owned a small wine import business in Amsterdam before delving into roles at prestigious Spanish wineries, such as Miguel Torres in Barcelona.
In the mid-nineties, he embarked on a remarkable journey starting and developing the Enate Winery, a significant player in the Spanish wine sector.
Fueled by his passion and expertise, Louis established Axial Vinos in 1999, followed by the inception of Axial Wines USA six years later.
With a focus on expansion, Axial now produces over 600,000 cases of wine annually, targeting growth in Asia and the USA.
Louis Geirnaerdt's educational background includes studying Drs in Geology and the History of Science at Universiteit Utrecht.
