Louis Carbonneau is a seasoned expert in intellectual property strategy with over thirty years of diversified professional experience in the field. He is widely recognized for his proficiency in IP strategy and monetization worldwide. He has been acknowledged as one of the World's Leading Intellectual Property Strategists by the British Intellectual Assets Management (IAM) magazine for ten years in a row. Carbonneau's career began at Microsoft where he served in several leadership roles, including the General Manager for International IP & Licensing, the General Manager for Outbound Licensing & IP Ventures, and Senior Corporate Attorney. He was responsible for commercializing and outbound licensing of Microsoft's technology and intellectual property assets, structured and negotiated plenty of complex transactions with startups, SMBs, and Fortune 500 companies. Later, Louis became the Founder & CEO of Tangible IP, LLC, a leading patent brokering and IP advisory firm that specializes in patent monetization and IP strategy. Carbonneau has brokered the sale of more than 4500 patents, returning millions of dollars to patent owners, completing dozens of strategic IP advisory engagements for clients. He is also an Adjunct Professor for the University of Washington's Graduate Program in Intellectual Property Law & Policy. Additionally, he is a Venture Partner & Strategic Advisor to Cycle Capital and Cycle Momentum, clean technology start-up accelerator and one of the largest clean tech fund managers in North America, respectively. Carbonneau also sits on the board of several technology startups.
