Regulatory Interface Officer - Site Nuclear Compliance at EDF

The Regulatory Interface Officer is a source of advice and support to the site for site based interactions with the regulators and management of regulatory outcomes. 

Managing the interface with HSE, ONR and EA at the HPC site involves:

- Ensuring that the site adheres to agreed protocols and processes for managing regulatory engagement activities including meetings, correspondence, email exchanges, assessment and inspections, this involves timely transmittal of documents to the regulators, managing action trackers to ensure timely completion of actions and compiling reports for site-based activities that are then shared with the regulators.
- Planning for regulatory inspections and site based regulatory meetings, including organising pre-meetings, ensuring appropriate attendance, ensuring that agendas, notes/actions and commitments associated with ONR and EA meetings are agreed with all internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner. 
- Participating in some regulatory engagements to support effective site based interactions, ensure that the regulators have good oversight of site based activities, including organisation of, and participation in monthly site Level 4 meetings.

Regulatory Interface Officer - Site Nuclear Compliance

In this role I manage the effective and efficient provision of professional support services to the Site Nuclear Compliance team working on the HPC Project and provide support to the wider management team. In this role I am expected to act primarily on my own initiative ensuring the smooth operation of the office and effectively managing senior stakeholder requirements.  The role provides additional administrative responsibilities as well as occasionally providing holiday cover for other members of the Project Support team.  

The principle accountabilities in this role include:
•	Being responsible for diary management and preparation of meeting packs 
•	Liaising closely with counterparts in other HPC locations and command centres to support effective interaction and collaboration
•	Being responsible for the management, organisation and filing of electronic and physical documents and records as appropriate 
•	Recording and produce minutes and actions for key business meetings as necessary
•	Maintaining data/records so that information is readily available and easily accessible
•	Providing office services such as reprographics, binding etc
•	Arranging meetings and co-ordinate the booking of rooms, arrange travel, accommodation, pool/hire vehicles and hospitality as required
•	Responding to phone/email enquiries to/from wide range of external parties etc.
•	Preparing letters, documents, ensure reports are well presented.

HPC Project Support - Site Nuclear Compliance

The principle accountabilities in the role HPC Visits Coordinator included:
•	Managing the HPC site visit mailbox and calendar
•	Liaising with variety of internal and external stakeholders, examples include; Environment Agency (EA), National Grid (NG), Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) to establish visit/event requirements and make the required requests and arrangements e.g. book transport, hospitality, PPE, rooms and any other additional requirements associated with the level of visit/event 
•	Ensuring all visitors are added to the visitor management system (VMS), escorting where required
•	Developing policies, procedures and processes to improve the quality, standard and efficiency of the visits following an increase in the number of people visiting HPC
•	Developing and managing the HPC visits tracking process and templates
•	Reporting on visit and visitor numbers to HPC
•	Producing and distributing the weekly visits list to key delivery stakeholders 
•	Attending meetings representing the Visits Team e.g. weekly HPC visit approval meeting with the Delivery Director

The principle accountabilities in the role Visitor Centre Guide included:
•	Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of visitors while on visits to our nuclear licensed sites 
•	Acting as a face and voice of EDF responding to public enquiries on a variety of subjects e.g. customer service/bill enquiries, recruitment, accommodation and bookings for site tours
•	Representing EDF by giving presentations and/or running workshops at external events and to local groups e.g. Schools, Colleges, Scout/Guide groups, stakeholder groups.
•	Representation at careers fairs and large community events e.g. Royal Bath and West Show
•	Playing an active part in themed events at the Hinkley EDF Visitor Centre
•	Managing and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
•	Working with the wider communications team to promote and manage the reputation of EDF in the local community

HPC Visits Co-ordinator and Tour Guide

In this position I implemented and delivered EDF Education Inspire Programme in Somerset for young people between 6-24 years old through the development of a programme of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and construction related interventions and activities to raise aspirations and awareness of careers to create a workforce of the future.  It involved the management of the day-to-day implementation of specific interventions and activities within the Education Strategy and Engagement Plan developed as part of the Section 106 planning permission and Development Consent Order for the HPC project.  

The principle accountabilities in this role included:
•	Leading the project management and implementation to deliver EDF’s Inspire Education Programme
•	Managing the day-to-day implementation of specific interventions and activities within the Education Strategy and Engagement Plan
