Lorin Thomas-Tavel

Lorin Thomas-Tavel is an experienced higher education leader who recently joined 2U, Inc. as the Managing Director of Boot Camps. Prior to 2U, she spent 14 years at Kaplan, where she served in various leadership roles including Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Operating Officer for the test prep business, and most recently as Chief Experience Officer for Kaplan North America.13

At Kaplan, Thomas-Tavel led business transformation efforts, helped transition the company to a more consumer- and product-focused structure, and drove innovation efforts that diversified the company's portfolio.13 Before Kaplan, she held executive positions at Ann Taylor, where she helped grow the company from a small national footprint to over 800 stores and launch its online presence.13

Thomas-Tavel is passionate about improving student experience and outcomes.13 At 2U, she will oversee the company's boot camp business, focusing on future product innovations and enhancements to the student experience.23
