    “founders shouldn’t meet with VC associates” is largely true, except…

    • some firms give check-writing power to juniors (we at @BloombergBeta have an anyone can say yes policy)
    • multi-stage firms sometimes rely on junior folks to do all their sourcing, so if you don’t talk to an associate, you just won’t get a conversation
    • some firms trick founders by giving every investor a "partner” title, when in reality, there’s still a hierarchy of associates and GPs
    • there are some rare junior investors who have a lot of sway at their firms, and might be your biggest ally in getting over the finish line!
