Loren Busby

Loren Busby is the Director of the BioVenture eLab at Weill Cornell Medicine, a position he has held since July 2022. In this role, he focuses on providing entrepreneurship training, expertise, and resources to faculty, researchers, and students, particularly in relation to the commercialization of their inventions. He is also responsible for creating programming for Weill Cornell's innovation center, collaborating with partners such as Memorial Sloan Kettering and Rockefeller University.12

Prior to his current role, Busby had an extensive career in venture capital and management. He served as a Managing Member at Cresco Advisors LLC from 2010 to 2022, where he worked with founders and investors to build value in privately-held companies across various sectors, including healthcare and technology. His previous positions also include roles at NGN Capital LLC and Walden Capital Management, among others, where he gained significant experience in investment and company operations.2

Busby holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has a strong background in finance, having worked with various investment firms throughout his career. His expertise lies in fostering innovation and supporting the development of new technologies within the biopharma sector.2
