Loc Dao is an accomplished executive director and co-founder with significant experience in digital technology, media organizations, and leadership. He is currently serving as the Executive Director of DigiBC, the Creative Technology Association of British Columbia, where he leads and advocates for the growth of the technology industry. With a background in mathematics and music, Loc Dao has helped shape the Canadian media landscape through his work with National Film Board of Canada and CBC Radio 3.
Dao has served in multiple leadership roles, including Acting Chair, Board Of Directors at Canadian Interactive Alliance/l'alliance interactif canadienne and Member Board Of Directors at Story Money Impact. He is passionate about the intersection between storytelling and technology, joining Founding Member at Guild of Future Architects and the Immersive Web Working Group at W3C. He also has experience in public policy, having been an Industry Expert Advisor to the Minister of Heritage at the Government of Canada.
Loc Dao is a seasoned digital executive, having served as the Chief Digital Officer and Head of Digital at the National Film Board of Canada, where he produced immersive, interactive documentaries and games that have won multiple awards. As a Founding Partner at Randomlink Interactive Inc., he helped develop groundbreaking digital media projects, which have won an Emmy Award and a Peabody Award. Dao's passion for media and cutting-edge technology has made him an indispensable leader in the industry.
