Liza Rankin

School Board President at Seattle Public Schools

Liza Rankin is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in education, arts, and community organizations. She holds Bachelor's degree in Theatre/Theater and Education from Whitman College and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Theater Design from Brandeis University. Liza has served in various leadership roles on the School Board, including Communications and Outreach Chair, Diversity and Inclusion co-chair, and Legislative Chair at Seattle Public Schools. She has also been actively involved in the Seattle Council of Parent Teacher Student Assoc and Wedgwood Elementary PTA, holding leadership positions such as Co-VP, Reflections Chair, Legislative Chair, and Diversity and Inclusion co-chair. Liza has been a member of the Board of Directors at Sand Point Arts and Cultural Exchange (SPACE) and Steering Committee Chair at Soup for Teachers. Additionally, she has served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Queens College and worked as a Freelance Scenic Designer. Liza's diverse skills and experience have made her an invaluable asset to organizations focused on education, arts, and community building.
