Liza Lightfoot

Liza Lightfoot is a successful business owner, project manager, and non-profit co-founder with extensive knowledge of plants, landscape construction, and vegetable production. She has studied Landscape Architecture and Jazz Voice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is actively involved in the WI Landscape Contractors Association. Liza is the owner of Travel Learners LLC, and is the Travel Guide for South Africa. She is also the Chair of KidlinksWorld Inc, an NGO that supports AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Southern Africa.

Liza's goals include creating farmer-to-farmer links between South Africa and Madison to promote food security in low-income urban and rural areas. She also plans to oversee food garden projects in South Africa. Currently, Liza is the President of Avant Gardening and Landscaping Inc., where she manages the Avant Farm, a small farmer incubator that encourages fledgling food producers to grow their businesses by providing low-cost land rental, shared resources, and equipment.

In addition to her professional experience, Liza is highly involved in various organizations. She is the former President and Landscape Architect at Avant Gardening and Landscaping Inc., and the former Fabric Printer and Seamstress at Penny Le Roy Ltd. SunPrint Restaurant and more.
