Lisa Wernli
A warm heart and a well-trained dog can solve big problems.
Lisa Wernli is the Executive Director of Operations at Canines 4 Comfort, an organization that provides support through service dogs, particularly for individuals with mental health challenges. She has a background as a retired management consultant and former strategic sourcing manager. Wernli joined Canines 4 Comfort in December 2018 as a puppy raiser and became a board member in July 2019. She also serves as the volunteer coordinator for the organization.14
Wernli holds a degree in Sociology from Loyola University of Chicago and has experience in people, project, and office management, focusing on process improvements and strategic goal formulation.23 Prior to her work with Canines 4 Comfort, she worked as a case manager at Lamb’s Farm, supporting developmentally disabled adults, and has been involved in recruiting at Kelly Services since 1996.14 She resides in Grayslake, Illinois, and continues to be actively involved in the organization as a host family for dogs in training.1
