Lisa Marriott
Associate Professor at Oregon Health and Science University
Lisa Marriott is an Associate Professor at the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, where she focuses on learning and memory research, applied science education, and biomedical workforce development. She serves as the Associate Director of the "Let's Get Healthy!" program, which utilizes health information technology to assess health behaviors and provide personalized feedback. This program received the 2015 Technology Award from the Society of Public Health Education.13
Marriott's academic background includes a B.A. in Neuroscience from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Arizona. She has completed two postdoctoral fellowships at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in physiology and pharmacology, as well as in science education.1
Her research interests include student engagement in science careers and health-related decision-making, particularly through informatics-based approaches. She has been involved in various NIH-funded projects aimed at improving equity and diversity in STEM education, focusing on inclusive data practices to support underrepresented groups.23
In recognition of her contributions, Marriott has received several awards, including the OHSU-PSU School of Public Health Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching & Mentorship in 2019, and she was the only recipient in Oregon of the NIH Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Mentoring in 2022.134
