Lisa Leong

Lisa Leong is a prominent figure in the financial sector, currently serving as the Managing Director of Institutional Business for Southeast Asia at Capital Group, a position she has held since December 2021. In this role, she is responsible for developing strategies and fostering relationships with institutional clients in the region, reporting directly to Jeik Sohn, the head of the client group for Singapore and Southeast Asia.23

Prior to her current position, Leong was the Head of Institutional Business for Southeast Asia at Franklin Templeton from January 2015 until December 2021. In that capacity, she led the institutional sales efforts and was instrumental in expanding Franklin Templeton's presence in the Southeast Asian market.12 Her career also includes significant experience as a Fixed Income and Equities Portfolio Manager at Bank Negara Malaysia and an associate role at EY (formerly Ernst & Young) before transitioning into her leadership roles in asset management.3

Leong holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance with First Class Honours from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Her educational background complements her extensive experience in finance, equipping her with a robust understanding of both investment strategies and client relationship management.34
