Lisa Cuesta Bunin is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Aztec Protocol, a company focused on building a fully programmable encrypted zkRollup for Ethereum. She joined Aztec as its first business hire and has played a significant role in scaling the team from 9 to 45 employees while raising $120 million in funding. As COO, she oversees various aspects of the organization, including commercialization, finance, operations, and human resources. Notably, she has driven the adoption of Aztec Connect through governance proposals and partnerships with prominent entities like Compound, Lido, and Aave. Additionally, she launched Aztec's grants program and co-authored the Grants Program Playbook, and she leads the ZK Legal Working Group, which coordinates legal efforts across projects utilizing zero-knowledge technology.13
Before her tenure at Aztec, Lisa was a Principal at NextGen Venture Partners, a multi-stage venture fund, and held various roles at Google and Booz Allen Hamilton. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor's degree from The Wharton School, where she studied Finance, Global Analysis, and Political Science.21
