Lindsay Gorman

Lindsay Gorman is the Managing Director and Senior Fellow at the German Marshall Fund (GMF) of the United States, where she leads the Technology Program. She has a strong background in both technology and policy, particularly focusing on the intersection of emerging technologies and international security. Gorman is also a venture scientist with Deep Science Ventures, specializing in artificial intelligence and biotechnology.

Her academic credentials include a BA in Physics from Princeton University and an MS in Applied Physics from Stanford University. Gorman's career spans over fifteen years, during which she has held significant roles, including serving as a senior adviser in the Biden White House on emerging technology and national security issues. She was instrumental in crafting U.S. technology competition strategies and led international initiatives through the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council, particularly in AI cooperation.12

Before her current role, Gorman founded and was the CEO of Politech Advisory, a technology consulting firm. She has contributed to various high-profile projects, including the Cyberspace Solarium Commission and has advised U.S. Senator Mark Warner on technology matters. Gorman is recognized for her expertise in areas such as cybersecurity, AI, and democratic responses to autocratic technology influences, and she frequently shares her insights through public speaking engagements and media appearances.12
