Lina Achour
College of Europe Natolin - Belgian UN Youth Delegate Youth Policy Vlaamse Jeugdraad
Lina Achour is a UN Youth Delegate for Youth Policy at the Vlaamse Jeugdraad (Flemish Youth Council).12 She was elected to this position in May 2020 for a two-year mandate, serving one year as a junior and one year as a senior representative.1 Her main responsibilities include:
- Representing the voice of children and young people at local, national, and international levels, with a focus on the UN level.1
- Addressing topics important to young people, such as mental health, combating climate change, and equal opportunities.1
- Focusing on eliminating inequalities, particularly in education, the labor market, and gender-related issues.1
Achour is currently finishing her Master's degree in International and European Law.1 She has also worked as an intern at the Representation of Flanders to the EU, supervised by the Youth Affairs attaché.1 In her role as UN Youth Delegate, Achour has participated in various events and conferences, including:
- Giving an online workshop to students at UCLL about youth participation.1
- Having a virtual conversation with Queen Mathilde of Belgium about youth participation, the impact of COVID-19 on young people's mental health, and the role of youth in conflict resolution.1
Currently, Lina Achour serves as a Political-Military attaché at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the OSCE.3
