Currently I teach physical education courses at Western Piedmont Community college. I also coordinate the adjunct facility and program development. Working with community college students has been a worthwhile and fitting role; showing others, the profound impact a physically fit lifestyle can have on all categories of life brings me joy.

Sports For Learning runs lunch recess, Saturday, after-school, and summer programs at over 1,000 elementary and middle schools in the Western U.S. Coaches blend STEM into soccer, inspiring children in academics as well as sports.

As a trip leader I take groups of 10-25 guests on biking/hiking adventures during week long luxury excursions all over the world. I have worked specifically in Southern California, Yosemite National Park and Hudson Valley, New York. In addition to my guiding duties I am also a cook, hostess, and concierge for guests. We are able to provide an active dream vacation for each guest !

As an assistant coach at the University of New Orleans I was in charge of managing and coaching the distance squad. UNO is a NCAA Division I school who is working hard to develop student athletes who compete with the best collegiate track and field/cross country athletes in the nation. In addition to coaching I was also responsible for recruiting top tier athletes both nationally and internationally. On the administrative side I handled team travel, team gear orders and community volunteering projects. One of my proudest moments was taking the Men's Cross Country team to NCAA DI Regionals at Texas A&M. The group was named Academic All-Americans which is a testament to the groups commitment to serious athletics AND academics.

In May I completed my masters degree in Exercise Science and Sport Studies from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. The program is devoted exclusively to the practice of intercollegiate coaching. The program is interdisciplinary by design, combining a background in social science and scientific information about exercise and sport with practical experience encompassing all aspects of coaching. Smith is one of only two schools in the nation to receive the highest level of certification from the National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE).

During my time at Smith I was a full-time student, Teaching Fellow and also a full-time assistant for the Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams.

Daily responsibilities include supervision of assigned tower locations and/or oceanfront patrol covering 22 miles of beach serving approximately 1.2 million visitors seasonally

Additional job requirements include: elite physical conditioning and weekly community outreach programs, both of which contribute to Corolla’s Ocean Rescue reputation as the finest Ocean Rescue program in the Outer Banks
