Kevin Lilly

Kevin J. Lilly is a notable figure in the wealth management industry, recognized as a Founding Partner of Avalon Advisors LLC, which is one of the largest privately-owned wealth management firms in Texas. Avalon Advisors was founded in 2001 by Kevin Lilly along with Robert Gauntt, Henry Lartigue, and Willie Langston.3 In 2023, Avalon merged with CI Financial, the nation’s largest independent wealth advisory firm.12

Before founding Avalon, Kevin Lilly had an extensive career in private wealth management. He worked at Morgan Stanley's Private Wealth Management Division for five years, where he helped establish its first Private Wealth office in Texas. Prior to that, he spent seven years with Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management Division in both New York and Houston.12

In addition to his business achievements, Kevin Lilly has served in various public service roles. He was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry as a Regent of the Texas State University System and later served as Chairman of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission starting in 2017.24 He also holds a military background, having served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and currently as a Colonel in the Texas State Guard.12

Kevin Lilly holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. He resides in Houston with his family.12
