Lillian Duggan is an experienced editor, proofreader, and writer with more than 25 years of expertise in the publishing industry. She has worked as an in-house editor and a freelance editor on numerous projects ranging from fiction, nonfiction, personal essays, academic dissertations, and nonprofit materials. Lillian views herself as an advocate for readers, prioritizing readability and accessibility while maintaining the writer's distinctive voice. Additionally, Lillian studied English and Spanish at Indiana University Bloomington and gained proficiency in Spanish by studying overseas in Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has worked with multiple organizations, including The Resource Foundation as a Freelance Grant Report Writer and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill as a Project Editor in Educational Publishing for Elementary Science, Health, and Social Studies. Nowadays, she owns and operates The Ideal Word, an editing and proofreading company.
