Liesl Schillinger

Liesl Schillinger is a part-time lecturer at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at The New School, not an Assistant Professor.13 She teaches journalism and focuses on the ethics, history, and global transformations in culture, politics, and technology that affect the role of the free press and the integrity of fact in society.1 Schillinger is also a literary critic, writer, and translator.4 Her work has appeared in various publications, including the New York Times, Foreign Policy, and the New Yorker.4 In 2017, she was awarded the insignia of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.5 Schillinger is known for her interest in language and words, having created a Tumblr blog called "Wordbirds" where she coined new words to describe modern phenomena.2
